How long we retain your data
Data includes forms and contracts you may fill out in print or online, audio and / or video recordings of sessions if any (recording happens only with our mutual consent prior), and any notes taken by BodyLight staff and practitioners related to services offered, or any other information you share with BodyLight. Data will be saved approximately 3-5 years, then completely destroyed. As data is typically in electronic format, there is always the risk of data breach and also data loss, both of which BodyLight takes measures to prevent.
Confidentiality
All information communicated to BodyLight LLC or Brian Stuepfert in any way is confidential. All electronic forms at BodyLight LLC comply with the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rules. We value your right to privacy and confidentiality. We may share general themes of our work such as when discussing with others for advertising, describing services to prospective clients, sharing learning with professional development groups, etc., but only in ways that protect every client’s privacy – i.e., only in general terms, always de-identified, never linked to identifiers such as name, exact age, location, etc.
If your brother, wife, friend, colleague, etc comes to a session for themselves, even if you referred them to me, and they ask about you, I will not discuss your care with them. I won’t even admit you are or have been a client. That’s how much I want to protect your confidentiality!
